    God be with you always.

    Hi Sanjay,
I agree with Sulekha- one has to decide for oneself! But first make sure u look into all the consequences of goin in for depigmentation. As ur doc said, the middle east weather clearly is very hot, and sunburns is an issue there even for normal people. is there anyone/friend/ colleague u know, who has opted for depig and lives there? my father works there in Kuwait(since 25-30years now) so i know the weather there! yes, and that is certainly an imp issue.

My roomate(she is like a sis) is against my choice of depig as she keeps telling me- what about chances of cancer? what about the protective functions of melanin that u plan to loose? what about ur kids- will they be depig, or normal ?… tons of ques….

But ive decided to start depig after 3-4months from now. till then, i want to know more about it, its consequences, bad after effects,… everything….

I know once i choose to go for it, ill ve to take precautions, but then- if i dont choose to depigment, 10years down the road, i dont know where ill be… Right now, im young, strong, and able to make adjustments as im single. After 10years, i dont know what my future will be… at that time, i maynt be able to focus on any treatments, with a husband n kids around, i might not b able to do anything if my vit spreads then… thinking of that, i feel right now is the best time for me to choose to do sumthin abt my vit. like sulekha says, she can now focus on better things in life, i tooo believe in the same…. theres alot more to my life that i want to put 100% into! i love my Life!
I havent heard of people having skin cancer or other probs after depig, except for “the sensitivity” issue. Here in melbourne, we dont face alot of sun(its usually very cold), except during summer for 3months(dec-feb). thats d reason i thought of depig. But im still open to opinions, and will change my decision if need be.

Sanjay, u been to melbourne? if not, try planning a holiday here with ur family n kids, u would enjoy d city!
Or else, try repigmenting thru some more methods-u never know-it might work! ive heard of some new treatments that ve worked wonders of patients! whatever u choose, do it after patiently thinking. (look thru the middle east forum, u might find someone with similar experiences!)

Chalo, ab hum prarthanaa karte hain ki aap jo bhi kadam uthaaye, usme Bhagwanji sab kuch control kare aur aapki zindagi ko khushiyon se bhar de. Aap jo bhi karoge, uska fal acchaa hi hona hai- im very confident about it!

By d way, how did u get to dubai, u had relatives there? or were u there since long? i had plans to go to dubai/kuwait, as i know theres no tax on any salary, n people mint good money there! and i unexpectedly landed here in Australia, haha! God is indeed full of suprises n excitement! Dekhte hain yahaan par ab masters degree pura karne ke baad kya hota hai! vaise mujhe lagta hai- koi to bewakuf yahaan hoga jo mujhe job degaa!! haha! just kidding! i know im confident, hardworking, and will put in the best efforts in work!
    All d best,
    Take care,
    Emerita.

    Hello Sanjay,
Theres a person in this forum (jitesh) who gave me d ph no of the doc in pune. he was refused by docs in US for benoquin prescription. his parents got it for him from d pune doc. im planning to call d doc. But i plan to start with depigmentation around march2007 as im very busy with studies n other responsibilities. i thought about depigmentation, as i think it relieves u of future botheration related to vit. im not a “coward” who is trying to get d easy way out. ive come to this decision after thinking, observing alot……whats more, since ive been naturally pretty fair, i dont think depigmentation would make tooooooo much of a difference.(alot of people here in australia dont believe that im an indian!)

My parents r actively looking for a match. im here alone in australia with responsibilities of my study, career, and alot more! among all this, its too much for me to even bother about treatment… and im enjoying life right now. i too ve been thru the same phases where during the treatment -the vit seems under control and then again goes on in its usual state……

Agar shaadi karoongi, to kisi ese ladke se-jo vitiligo ko accept kare. theres alot in me apart from the vitiligo… so let a guy first know about the vitiligo, and then think if he really wants to go ahead…

After having it under control in 2004, i wanted to see if the treatment was really effective or was it the steroids that had temporarily stopped the spread of vitiligo. Then i decided to stop all treatments. Its 2years now, and ive developed little new patches on my fingers…. haha!!! caught d doctors who simply made a lot of money out of my dad’s hard earned money!

After that, ive now decided- no more hangin around unsurity… as i want to stop botherin about vit, and focus on other lovely issues in life….
Yes, im a very cheerful person! i love to laugh(and barely bother about the vit)
U take loads of care, N keep us posted with what happens ….
    God Bless.
    Emerita.

    Hi Khushi,
Keep us posted on whatever u choose to do… we r all here with u!

I understand what u r goin thru, depigmentation is a good choice for u, go ahead. how much vit do uve? is more than 50% of ur body covered with it? if yes, then u wont ve probs getting a prescription. otherwise, ull hve to hunt for a doc in india.
All the best with ur life!
    God be with u!
    Emerita.

    Hello Sanjay,
Yes, ive got vit on my fingers and on my feet. i am a fair skinned person, and so i thought goin for depigmentation wouldnt make alot of difference on d way i look. im goin to start it after 4-5months. ive heard that the depigmented have been using artificial tans(Jergens natural glow mentioned in depig forum) to look more natural later. i know, ive been trying so many treatments. and sometimes repigmentation just doesnt work for some.
When u meet d doctor make sure u r very firm on ur decision to go for depigmentation. if u cant go to india, how about speaking to that pune doc on phone n requesting a prescription?
keep us posted with whatever u do… Sanjay, dont worry… things will be fine. keep emailing us here and let me know how things go with u.

bhaiyya, mushkilon ka ant aayegaa, thoda intezaar aur..bas, abhi ke liye- iska dut kar saamna kar lo!
I pray that things go well with u.
    God Bless u.

    Hello Sanjay,
im planning to undergo depigmentation too. theres a special forum named “depigmentation” in this website, and they ve provided all knowledge related to depigmenting treatment which was very useful for me to decide about it.
it would take approximately 6months to 1year to completely depigment. yes, i know its a big decision. I was given this doctors’s address by a patient in another forum: try n see if u can get this doc to help u. the cream used for depigmentation is benoquin/monobenzone.
    Doc’s name: Dr. K.R. Chandvania
Contact number: 91 20 25520657 (91 is the country code for India; 20 is the city code for Pune, India)

The benoquin (20%) should cost you approximately $6-8 / 20 gm.

Good luck, we r all with u Sanjay! keep us posted on what u decide to do…

    God be with u.
    Emerita.

    Hey Sujit Bhaiiya,
I dont know why- i found u a very sweet person right from the start! ur just like my younger brother is…
am very glad to hear that u were a topper! looks like ur a hard working guy! not all are as lucky as u r to ve the ability to excel at studies! u have the ability to work hard and do a lot in life, im dead sure about that!

Yes, im specially planning to come to Kolkata when i come to india during my holidays, to see u! i plan to come sometime around october 2007. i would love to meet ur family and tell them that they have a blessed son, who is so special!
If u ever decide to come to Australia, let me know, ill make sure u dont ve any problems staying here. Yes, getting partime jobs, is a little difficult here in aust. but ve u found out if statistics is in demand here in australia or US this year? also for research, ve u found if u get a skilled visa or somethin as ur studying in reputed uni in India?
i know how tough those entrance exams are, i appeared for the PMT entrances and couldnt clear it! haha!
U seem to be a responsible boy, its nice to hear theres someone like me who doesnt want to burden their parents with the cost of this treatment, i understand…

But remember, as u have only a few patches, take ur treatment regularly, so that the spread of vitiligo stops. now is the time.

take loads of care, and keep working hard, it always matters, as God is watching ur work!
    Emerita Di.

    Sujit,
What is M.stat? Masters in Statistics? Is ISI a famous uni/college in Kolkata? ive never been to Kolkata, but when i visit india in 2007, ill surely try arranging a trip to Kolkata! i would love to see the city that is always talked about so much..

im doing my masters in accounting here in Melbourne, Australia. i came here in March 2005.My Masters will be completed by Feb2007. this is my last semester!
U know what? i did my Bachelors in Science (BSc in Biotechnology) back in India. Then i got to know of Accounting being a demanding field here in Australia right now. i was a topper in Science. Now im trying to be a topper in Accounting! haha.. i dont find it very difficult though, as ive been putting in a lot of hard work.

Life really is unpredictable… i never even thought i would be in Australia in future doing acounting as i was a science student!
But im happy today… Thanks to the Loving God, who makes our lives so beautiful!
    Stay happy always,
    Emerita Di.

    Hi Sujit Bhaiyya,
I was told by a homeopathic doctor before to avoid “sour” foods like yoghurt, etc…. But the allopathic doctor told me to enjoy all food!

For ayurvedic treatments and for homeopathic treatments, the doctors do restrict some kinds of food as they may interfere with the medicine effects.
But if ur under allopathic treatment, u can eat everything! im eating everything right now, all fruits, all vegetables, all mithai, but i do stay away from oily, junk food…..as they r bad for our health.
I dont believe in restricting any kind of food for vitiligo. Usually, they r kind of superstitions…. so i never believe em.
Ru planning to continue with the ayurved treatment or ru going to start with narrowband UVB treatment?
From what u said, u really dont ve to worry much, u dont have alot of patches. and its very good since ur already under treatment. Ur a lucky boy!

There r people who neglect the treatment until the vitiligo spreads too much. but for you, its best to start treatment now itself, so that u dont ve to worry about anything later on.

Take loads of care, Emerita Di.

    Hi Abbas,
I saw ur emails on other forums where u mentioned using Dermacolor- camouflage make-up and also Narrow band UVB( nbUVB). Sujit has been desperately trying to get information on how to get these for himself. Could u please give him information on these two?
Where did u buy Dermacolor from? Cost?
Where did u get the NB UVB handheld unit from? Costed how much?
    Who ru getting treatments from?
    Have u seen improvements?

Thanking you in advance, God Bless.
    Emerita.

    Oye Sujit,

Im a SHE not a he!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mein ek ladki hoon!!

In fact, im 100% a she, a very good “she”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! haha!!

Im very glad to hear that ur changing – believe me, ull will never regret this change.
Usually, the problems are all in our head. Problems dont really exist for people who know how to bravely tackle em!!!
Ur writing poems?? wow! few youngsters today do write poems, why dont u share some poems here with us?

Zindagi hamari ek hai, kyun ise apne hi dimag se tod marod kar kathin bana dena? mushkilein sirf hamare dimag me hain!
Vitiligo ki mushkili sirf dimaagi hai:
yaa us mushkili ko khatam kar dena aur khud nayi khubsoorat zindagi ki shuruat karna,
yaa fir us vitiligo ko dimag me zinda rakh kar khud mar jaana,
the choice is in YOUR hands!
Akalmand woh hai jo, apne takaton ka sahi istemal kare, aur is zindagi ko age badhaaye, kyon ki ye zindagi kisi ke liye rookti nahin…

Yes, Sujit- we have more power compared to the other non-vitiligo people, because we look beyond our outside, we know the real thing we humans r made up of is our “inside”! The outside keeps changing, but the inside touches, heals, loves and is the place where God dwells!!!

God Bless you with His Strength!!!

i know i probably sound like a philosopher, but at my age, ive seen alot of people around me n grown to learn from my own and others’ experiences. whatever is placed on ur plate today as a problem- its upto u how to tackle it.. theres no escaping, but theres surely faith that moves mountains.

Positively going ahead, makes alot of difference. placing the right things as priorities is most important as it defines ur future!
    God bless,
    Emerita.
