Yes, I do use topical steroid cream and it has worked well for me in the past. It works best if applied and exposed to the sun for about 20-30 minutes.
August 4, 2006 at 6:54 pm in reply to: New Patches Started One Month back Please Help Me to STOP. #142703Hi Dileep,
My situation was similar to yours. I had vitiligo that was stable for many years (just a few patches) and now (I am close to 42 now)
I see a lot more patches. Yes, exposing to sunlight is the best. Previously I always used a steroid and exposed to sunlight for
about 20 minutes daily. I saw improvements within 1-2 weeks. Now with the really hot weather in the US, you should have no problem at all finding some sun every day. Regarding diet, I think what Van said works best – try to eat a balanced meal but don’t eat too many citrus
fruits..I have found that vitiligo gets whiter (you know some patches which are light brown) and sometimes new patches come with too much of Vitamin C (like orange juice, etc.). Eat lots of cooked green veggies (like spinach, broccoli, etc.) That helps you feel better as well has had a good effect on my vitiligo.
Good luck!Hi Siva,
I have had small spots of vitiligo earlier that I have tatooed over. It works well of the spots are small. Of course, you cannot get an exact color match …so you might want to think of using makeup instead(it’s easier to match the colors).
