Nothing came out of Neeta`s herbal ?? Any plans to go for the vitiligo conference ?
    [/QUOTED]

planning to see him for consultation for my son. Hope everything works out well. He has written another book & he is planning to
publish it by june 2005. If you need a copy let me know. take care.

I just read on the main msg board that u have started steroids.. oral ??
    [/QUOTED]

No oral steroids. Not this time. Dr. grimes gives oral steroids but for very short time like a week or two.
As far as UVB she thinks his vit. is very minor for UVB. I hope & pray it remains that way.

in reply to: 3 year old daughter vitiligo- feeling helpless #114566

Hi! I hope you are feeling better now by reading everybody’s responses. You are not alone in this. There are lot of people with kids in this. My 5-year-old son too has vitiligo. His showed up when he was 3 just like your daughter. Whatever treatment option you choose be consistent with it. It takes time to get the results. According to dr. grimes children show quick response than adults. So be optimistic.

    [QUOTED]
i find there is no perfect cure for this disease.
    [/QUOTED]

Even if there is no cure for it now there are definitely various treatments. Something or other will work for your child. Have you tried protopic or elidel? My son is using protopic for past 2 yrs. He got good results from it. My son too is taking multivitamin supplement. Sun exposure is also good for vitiligo.

Don’t loose hope. Whether vitiligo or not your child is always beautiful & you will get over this too. Hope this helps .

swinzle.. oh well.. her patches are loooming up everywhere.. face, neck, hands, arms trunk. Legs as u know were already depigmented. have just given up…. her patches spread so fast..there is no stopping them.I have stopped treating her…. i will let her depigment and she is happy about it. Thats about it.
    [/QUOTED]
    Van:
sometime we all feel like giving up. I can understand how you feel. It might be better if swinzle depigments naturally. Atleast she will be one color. Isn’t that what we are trying to achive? i hope one day we find cure or solid treatment for vitiligo. so no one has to go through this. I know you have raised your daughter to be confident about her image & happiness is more imp in life than skin color. I wish swinzle the best . Take care.

I do check web site on & off. Sometimes it takes pressure off by not checking it everyday. Thanks for asking about my son. After summer long of swimming my son started getting patches everywhere. According to Dr. grimes for some people chlorine can aggravate vit. if it not washed immediately after swimming. He lost pigment on his lips. Lips are very hard to repigment. I am doing protopic on it. Any ideas about repigmenting lips? Rest is fine with me. How’s swinzel doing? Hope everything is fine with her too.
