Hows it going? I doubt you got burnt, because you have to sit outside in the sun at least a few times before it can burn – i think. Yeh i know what you mean – my normal skin goes dark as well when i sit in the sun – but well what can you do. My skin is medium fair – an ok colour. I dont like getting dark, but if in the end, the vit dissapears but i get a little bit darker – then what the hell, so what! – the main thing is, is that it all gets better.
Oh and when your skin does get rough – you should apply Ghee on it – that helps the skin to go smooth again.
Yeh just fininshed uni, graduated in a BA Business – Human Resource Management (2.1). My graduation ceremony is in November – i have been putting my medicine on properly and drinking it properly since June. I really really thought that the vit on my neck would be getting better by now, and that i could wear what i wanted to the graduation ceremony – but the medicine is working so slowly now. For the first 7 weeks the medicine worked good, becasue i could see some brown patches occuring in the white bits – but now im not seeing anything happpen – its making me wonder about this chineese medince- but i guess i have to be patient.
Yeh thats what my doc said about the protopic cream – that it is not registered as a treatment for vit. I’ll just have to buy it privatly – which will cost me about £60 for one tube.
I miss uni – uni was so so fun, i had such a laugh. What course you doing?

I didnt know that your supposed to drink the medicine on an empty stomach. I normally eat cereral or something in the morning, and then half an hour later or so, i drink the medicine. I think i better speak to my doctor about this, to clarify it.
Another thing, you know u said you eat chocolate – well too much caffine is not good for vitiligo, so u should try keeping it to a minimum.
Also, the chinese medicine works best with the lotion. I sit in the sun practically every day 3 times for at least 10 mins at a time or evn more – because im in the west london area, its more warmer here. You say that your vit is on your face – i always thought that, that was a easier area to cure.
I used to do the samething u do – put the lotion on occasionally – but now that ive fininshed uni – i want to work, but the vit on my neck is gettin me down, because i cant wear normal clothes like shirts, instead i have to always put on polo, and rolo, and turtle necked tops. So thats why i have been rigourously putting the lotion on, and drinking the medicine.
Yeh your right, the medicine tastes bitter, but you get used to it after a while. The medicine costs £35 a week, it used to cost £28 five years back – they think we’re made of money. Becasue £35 a week is alot to pay, i use the herbs over two weeks, so i buy my medicine every two weeks. I boil the medicne in the morning and drink it, then in the evening i boil it again, and then the remainder of whats left, i drink the following morning.
Do you not have msn? We could chat on there.. Because everyone has been banging on about this Protopic, i thought id go to my doctor and ask him to prescribe it to me – DAMN THE DOCTOR, he didnt prescribe it for me…so instead I asked him to make me an appointment with the dermatologiat at the hospital……..that appointment will probably come in like 3 more or so…..DAMN THESE DOCTORS.
Sorry for babbling on.. i just have to speak whats on my mind.
I hope it stays sunny all this month.

I think the Excimer Laser light thing is the same as the psorawand – so they will both cost about the same.
I was thinking of buying the psorawand. When you put the lotion, you are supposed to expose your self to the sun, and because now that there is no sun, i was thinking of using the psorwand as a substitute for sun.
what do u think bout that?

Your medicine sounds identical to mines. How much do u pay for yours, mine is £35 a week. Yeh and im also given a lotion to apply on my skin 3-5 times a day.. You said that you dont apply the lotion – you should, because that really helps it alot.
Furthermore Neesha, you can purchase the psorawand from the internet from somewhere in canada or america, but the only problem is, is that it is expensive. It will cost about £425 including postage and packing overseas.
Im located in West london of the UK Van.

Im from the UK, so i asked my uncle to get me the babchi oil from india. I am taking some chineese medincine, and also applying some lotion on my affected areas. No i havent used babchi oil – but thats only because my mum told me to stick to using one medicine.
But now that its gonna start getting cold, there will be no sun, and my medicine works best with the sun, so as an alternative to sun, i am considering purchasing a narrow UVB light thing.
Where are you from? and are you able to purchase UVB lamps from there?
Oh and another thing, if the skin does burn whilst using a combination of UVB and babchi oil, or any other lotion thing, i think that is usually a good sign – because if the skin does burn, then hopefully the burnt skin area will return to your normal skin colour.
