If you do not have a VSI account, you can quickly create one here!I agree with Rajesh. Vitiligo is much more of a problem for South Asians and it’s disappointing to see no leadership coming from us. South Asians account for anywhere between 25-30% of the world’s population (if you include India, Pak, B’desh, SL etc + expatriates). So, by extension, at least 25-30% of people with Vitiligo are from that region.
An organization representing this sizable chunk of population could try and raise awareness about the cause of Vitiligo, advocate for more research funding from the Govt., and the budding biotech and pharma industry. It’s all challenging and time-consuming work, but certainly needed given the void.
Unfortunately, I dont live in India anymore or I’d be all over this.
