Rasmi[QUOTED]
herb triphala
[/QUOTED]yes, I have tried triphala a few years back
and I do take it now and thenIt is great to correct constipation and that is what i used it for
We actually used to prepare it at home by grinding together the 3 things it is made of – haid, bahed and awala
i have spelled the herbs atrociously, but i have just heard theirr names, so dont know how to spell even their hindi names.i tried triphala tablets also, made by Zandu
the home prepared one, is actually bitter and i would swallow one or 2 spoonfuls at night with water
really cleans up your bowels
I take it sometimes when I feel constipatedI fear a habit formation and dependency on it, so dont take it regularly
Rasmi
Thanks kalpana for the info

It’s true that vitamin C slows down melanin production in response to UV light (Infact, it prevents pigmentation blemishes)but this is remarkable when it’s topically administered. Orally taken vitamin C doesn’t concentrate much on the skin to be effective in this way. Even if it does (when consumed in large amounts),the effect should be uniform over the whole body(And helps maintaining your fair complexion).
[/QUOTED]Thanks Bejoy for that informative post.
Actually that explains the fear of Indian doctors to some extent
So, I can eat some amout of VitaminC foods with peace of mind
and also see how my body responds to itIts good to see this board so active!!

Some how for my body..Vitamin C in form of juices and beer or cold drinks acts as catalyst and increase my vit.
[/QUOTED]Thta is a good observation on Vitamin C.
I have never tried taking away all my food restrictions and observing.
Though now and then I do eat citrus fruits, and other VitaminC rich foods, but never thrown caution to the wind
Maybe the caution is not required at all….or maybe it is as in your case.[QUOTED]
I am going for Soya milk now

I have been taking ashwagandha for about 4 months now
I just buy the ashwagandha powder from a local store and take one spponful of it with milk
but yes, i am not regular with it, though try to take it everyday at nightYour course of action on vitiligo is really inspiring
I get too lazy to do all the things that I learn and can do about my vitiligo
Looking at your course of action, i resolve to myself agian to lead a better life
more controlled diet, more greens, no junk foodOne homeopath that I used to visit, said that Vitamin C works against the the production of melanin in the body, hence should be avoided.
He did not mean to say that it is Vitamin C which causes vitiligo…but that Vitamin C is not conducive to prodution of melanin
Made me think at that time about things like orange peel products being used as fairness cosmetics….not much substance in that thought thoughBejoy,
I lost you emailid as I lost all my mails sometime back
