If you do not have a VSI account, you can quickly create one here!Hello all!
Did any of you try the treatment with Dr.Rizvi in Delhi? He seems to be in business for the past 17 years. I went through his website and it is promising as any other doctor’s site. But I don’t want to try it on my daughter without any references. Please do let me know your experiences.
thanks,

Did you try Bawachi oil? What is your experience with it? How vit your son had on his face and did you say Unani medicine cleared it on his face? When I first heard that my daughter might have vitiligo and there is no cure for it, I got shocked. I am trying to get as much knowledge as I can. Is protopic working for your son? What I have heard is that the bony areas are hard and do not repsond very well, where as hairy areas respond well. Let me know the things that have worked for you. Here is my contact number and address:

Thanks a lot for your detailed reply. My daughter has it on her right eye lid and under left eye. When it started, suddenly one morning the I noticed that the skin there is white (and so pale that I could see the nerves) and little flaky too. So I thought it was dry skin and put some moisturizers for some time. Then after few months I took her to the pediatrician and she said it might vitiligo and referred me to the dermatologist. However, dermatologist did not confirm it yet and said that it might be Eczema. But, I think he did not want to say that it is vitiligo right away. He prescribed a topical steroid and I am using it for the past two weeks now. Too soon to say if it is working or not. He also asked me to apply Aquaphor on the whole body right after the bath. I am also now giving her multi-vitiamin one a day. Every day a tea spoon of barley green powder mixed in juice and a cup of soya milk (vanilla flavor). Ever since, doctor told me that she has vitiligo, I looked on her body and noticed small white spots here and there about 10 of them. They are really white. there are few spots on face but not white, just a couple of shades fairer than her skin. My father talked to a dermatologist in Hyderabad and that dermatologist said that there is a medicine to stop the new growth, if not to cure the current spots. I have another appointment in mid september and I would ask him about vitamin supplement. I have been hearing about Elidel cream. Did you try that? It is not a steroid, but immunomodulator (not very clear what it means). What is Unani process? Do you have to be there to take the medicine? When did your son take it?
Believe it or not, it feels so much better to share the feelings and to know that some one is there like you. I like this site.
thanks,

My daughter has vitiligo too. She is now 5 and half. Since, your son is in teenage now, if you do not mind, can I ask you, how is the treatment from other kids in the school. I am very much worried about it, since I have read real horror stories about it. Also, please let me know things that have worked for you. I am thinking of trying homeopathy, like Sonya, since it does not have side effects. If anyone had any adverse effect, please let me know. I am thinking of trying from Dr. Rajesh Shah from Bombay.
thanks,
Padma (yes, that’s my name too). -
