hi van, dileep and Jeb12345,
i don’t reside in the US. I stay in India, Mumbai. i am a lecturer in Molecular Biology and Genetic Engineering in a college in New Mumbai.
Both Protopic and Elidel had been prescribed by our dermatologist. So i don’t know if we can get it here in India without the doctor’s prescription. but i shall find out and let u know. by the way, we have the mediclaim policy (med. insurance) which don’t pay for the above.
In India these medical insurance policies are bogus let me tell you.
about our son– his vitiligo is stable (since last 2 months). we are doing both homeopathy and allopathay simultaneously… i don’t know if anyone here is doing the same thing…. its like we want to get the best of both worlds, hopefully,.. and i pray there should not be any side effects. the allopath derm and the homeopath do not know about this. he has orally homeopathic pills and topicall y applies the elidel, steroid and placentrix as recomended by the allopath. so far, so good…..that was a sort of long mail…
take care,

again thank you so much for replying. actually i have yet not figured out how to start a new thread; i.e. write/post a primary query and that’s the reason i put my question in one of your replies. can you pls guide me as to which option to click as i can see no option telling one to write/send a question or so.
take care,
Sanjuktahi van,
thanks so much for your reply. it is so much comforting…
my son’s vit has been stabilised for the last two months and there is also lot of freckling in most of the spots. mostly its due to the protopic and steroid. but homeopathy till now has not flared it up. so i just don’t know what to presume from this. i am sure flaring time is different for different people. i just hope and pray that which ever is making his vit stable, not does matter.. only the vit should be stable for ever. he is two small to understand all this u see..
i don’t know how to contact any member in this site who’s from mumbai. so far no one else except u have replied. i hope i get some references soon. in the meantime i am continuing with both types of medicines for the next 21 days after which i have to meet the respective docs none of whom i have told about the other line of treatment.take care,

i am new to this board. i am from mumbai (new mumbai). My two year old son has been just diagnosed with segmental vitiligo. he has it on his lower back to abdomen in a streak like feature. he is on tacroz, mometasone cream and placentrix with 10 mins of sun exposure every day for the last one month. his vit . started in feb this year and spread in two months but now it has not spread since the last two months. it is stable if feel. we had visited dr. farokh master (homeopath) and he said it is fungal infection and gave him some tablets which my son is still taking. then we visited this current allopathy dermatologist (dr. satish udare in vashi, new bombay) and he said it is seg. vit. he is currently on the three creams that i mentioned earlier.
i would like to know is there is any harm in continuing homeopathy and allopathy at the same time? though one is for topical application (allopathy) and the other is oral (homeopathy).
pls let me know if anyone had a cure or permanent stablised segmental vit? also can anyone tell me who is the best vit expert in mumbai?
thanks a lot for reading.
