          Hi juhi and everybody else on this site,

          To briefly introduce myself – I am a 42 year old Indian female in the US- have had vit since age 8 – so I do identify with a lot of the issues discussed here and have lived thru some of it too.

          It sounds like a really difficult situation – I am afraid I dont have any specific advice to give you – except that a lot of these issues take time – and as someone else mentioned – it must be really hard for your partner to be caught between two women that he cares for. I am glad you are taking the high road. Obviously this is a person (your partners mother!) who has never been exposed to anybody or any issues like this and will take time to get used to it. As I see it, knowing about the disease does not really help – it is this whole Indian thing we have about diseases happening to those who are evil or have bad luck – which is needless to say humbug. Fought this notion most of my life that I am suffering from this disease because of something I did in another life – hogwash !!! So hang on there – time will heal this – In the mean while understand that she is a person who knows less about life than you do and give her the compassion and time that she so obviously needs ! I definitely think you should hang on to a good thing and NOT let this come between you and your partner.

          PS Also noticed that you are in the process of depigmenting – I am half considering this option – since I am about 75% there already – but dont know whether I shld even bother and just let nature run its course !!!!
