      Hi Ria,

It is really a terrible thing to be with vit while you are young and everybody else is enjoying at beach. Lets hope your depigmentation works for you and you are able to lead a normal life again. I wish you all the success in this endeavour.

My doctor told me I could never depigment because my vit will never grow enough to justify depigmentation. Though it is as bad as possible on my visible areas, it is hardly present on my covered areas.

How much percentage of your body was affected by vit ? more than 50% ? what is the line when your derm allows you to go out for depig?

Thanks for wishing me luck . I really need it.

      Regards

      Sanjay

            Hi Ria,

With 190 posts, you must be a very active member of this vitiligo forum. I keep coming on and off. This time I have come to get advice on my new NBUVB treatment which I am starting after a gap of 6 years. I got married six years back and nothing was very visible then thanks to PUVA, After marriage I neither had time or budget for the expensive treatment. My wife was extremely supportive and I never felt any pressing need for restarting the treatment. Besides the nausea associated with vitiligo medicines was also a discouraging factor.

However now it is spreading like fire and I gotta do something about it. I am buying a NBUVB home unit with 4 lamps for around $1200. I hope the treatment work for me this time as well as it did six years back. The best thing about a home unit is that it is exteremly convenient and you can continue your treatment without any breaks for as long as you wish. I am determined to fight this god damned vitiligo till death. wish me luck.

How about you? I saw your profile and if your vit started at 12, your teens would have been hell. My vit started after college and it was much easier to handle then, though i missed lot on dating front.

            keep in touch

Fruits with Vitamin C do help in spreading the vitiligo so you should avoid eating citrous food. This is my personal experience only and you should double check with others too.
Non veg food does not affect your vitiligo, this I am sure about.

                  Hi Ria,

No, I am not all offended. It is just that i feel angry about the prevalent situation in India where the miracle doctors dupe people by using crude treatment and promising them total recovery. May be you were lucky that you got right people and institute but i have seen too many people in india being duped every day.

And that diet theory is not uncommom, all those quacks tell you the same stupid thing advising you not to eat any white thing.

I must say that you are wasting your time, if not money. I had gone through similar phase in my life in my initial years and i can tell you that it is all worthless. After all, what they try is crude form of PUVA only. They use some herb like Bawchi or something to make your skin a bit sensative towards sunrays and ask you to sit in Sun. You are bound to get some freckles anyway and this they say is the proof of their success. After an year or so you will anyway discontinue and then they will say that you lack patience. Then somebody else will replace you and the vicious circle wheels on. I have been duped by several Miracle Doctors and I think the utter despair helps you to make a fool of yourself. All this diet restriction is not going to help, trust me. The basic “intelligent” theory behind these diet restrictions is that all food items which are white in color like milk, curd etc will cause you to have white patches. Wow !! how intelligent… . And fools like us believe it also.

Now If you take my advice, you start believing in your own research and do what you think will work best for you. Try various treatments mentioned at this site and you will be far better off than your present hell.

No it is not availbale in india and you have to buy it from online shops in US, using your credit card.
                            and what expensive it is….
