If you do not have a VSI account, you can quickly create one here!Hi Suleka,
Thanks for writing in. yes I have been trying hard to procure it at a reasonable price, as my insurance doesn’t cover it and at 60-70$ per tube (including shipping)of MB20% from the sources my derm mentioned, i won’t be able to afford for very long. In India it is supposedly available at a fraction of this cost, so thats the reason I am trying to procure from india. I may try the pharmacies in US, when I need MB40% as I do not know any pharmacies compounding the stuff in India or UAE. Dubai customs is not a problem as long as i have the approval from ministry of health here in UAE. Its not a problem getting the approval if I have a prescription for the ointment. Bit tedious but not impossible.
Our company being one of the official contractors for the biggest health show in middle east called the Arab Health, I have many clients who are the major players in pharma industry in UAE. The company which distributes ICN, USA products ( as i recently found out) is one of my main clients, so they are eager to help me out as a personal favor, but they say that the product is not imported in UAE any more because of some price control and lack of buyers. On a worse note, they have recently stopped the production due to some commercial/ unknown reasons. They say they can help me compound the product locally to custom strength if I know the recipe. Whats your take on this? You being the only resident PHD in chemicals, you can guide me better on this.
The depigmented people in india, i met were naturally depigmented and were of old age rather than young. I have a friend who is going to india next week and he has a neighbour who is completely depigged. I have asked him to find out what he was using or if it was natural. I also knew of a girl who was the sister of my friend when I was in school. She was completely depigged but not an albino. I had no idea at that time about depigmentation or vitiligo so I just thought she was too fair and nothing else of it.
Take care
Sanjay

My vit is only 20% my dr says no to depig – I’ll continue to find ways to cover the spots on my face, I can’t be bothered to cover my hands there’s just too many of them. Did you try the walnut stain?[/QUOTED]
Hi, My vit is also around 20% if you take the depigmented area into account but Vit affects almost all parts of my body, so I am 100% vit. affected. I am aware that total repigmentation from this point onwards will be extremely tedious. At the rate it is spreading I think it may take decades for me to lose my total pigment, so I guess fast forwarding the process is one of the better options I have. Although my doctor is also not convinced, but i have not given up.
For camouflage, i use Dermacolor, buying from the same address mentioned in earlier post. I have been using it for 7-8 yrs now, no adverse reactions etc. The main problem, however is that it rubs off my collars and I have to keep touching it up. When walnut stain was mentioned in the forum as a cheap and long lasting camouflage, I was initially excited, but found out later that it was impossible to procure or prepare at home. Home made stains using food dyes was also not successful for me.
Good luck for your son..where are you from?

The benoquin (20%) should cost you approximately $6-8 / 20 gm.[/QUOTED]
Dear Emerita,
Where do you get benoquin at this cost? I heard it is quite expensive ($50) in US for same stuff
