I am not giving vitamins at the moment but it is definitely on my list. I am taking step by step approach on my son:

Started on homeopathic medicine a month ago. Didnt see any results but still continuing with the medicine since homeo medicine ususally takes time.

Two weeks ago, i completely shut off dairy, meat and eggs. Substituted it with Soy milk and tofu and almonds. I know this is hard but luckily my parents are visiting me for summer and they have taken over this project.

Started giving him carrot and beet juice mixed with little orange juice so that it tastes better. Without oj he wont drink it.

Applying bawachi oil everyday; if it is sunny, expose him for atleast 15 minutes after applying the oil. It is really hard to keep him in the sun. Boys are boys.

Started him on mineral water;earlier we just used tap water

I have started studying lot of aurvedic books and homeo books to help him out.
Recently bought a digital camera to track his progress. lol. Call me crazy but i usually get analytical when i undertake something
I have noticed that vit is not spreading anymore. In fact my parents say they have noticed little freckling but i havent compared it noticably yet.

You guys can share experiences too. I will continue to watch and keep you guys posted.

Hey Padma,

I am still using the oil. It is too early to say though. But his skin does get very pinkish after applying which according to many is a sign of repigmentation in the future. I cross my fingers in hope and will keep you guys posted.

My son who is 3.5 yrs got diagnosed with Vitiligo recently. We started him on homeopathic medicine recently, however it is too early to say. It takes atleast 3-6 months to see some difference as told by some indian practitioners. I dont know of any doctors to recommend but any good reputed homeopath in India should be able to help you with that.

Thanks for your reply, Dipti. Seems like our kids have very similar symptoms and about the same age We have been applying Ghee, the blisters are gone, and new skin has come up which is little pinkish than before. In the meantime, i wanted to ask if you ever tried any homeopathic medicine. Because you mentioned that your daughter is getting some new spots, it makes me think that oil is then only helping with repigmentation. My son hasnt got any new spots so far( he has one huge one on the foot which has spread a little bit), but i started him on a homeopathic medicine recently. It seems that it does work in some cases although reading responses on this site, it hasnt been very successful.
