Actually, it does darken the area on normal skin. So u should be careful about it especially if its on visible areas. Not that it harms or anything. Its just that it causes more uneven texture if the normal skin darkens. But after a while the normal skin lightens up back to its normal color so its only temporary. My son has vit on his foot, so his foot turned really dark last summer since we use to put oil and sit in the sun almost everyday in summer. His normal skin became much darker, then lightened back to its normal color along with the white spot becoming smaller as some freckles appeared. It was quite amazing. Now winters are almost gone here in Chicago, i am looking forward to do the same again this year.

    Hope this helps

The one i use is pretty good. Its from famous brand name “Hamdard” and goes by “Rogan Babchi”. Its readily available at any Aurvedic strore in India. My parents are in Chandigarh and they have been able to get it easily; so Jallundar or any big city should not be a problem.

    Hey Dipti

Its Gurmeet again. Glad to hear that things are working out for you. Question: How are u using the oil now that it is winter. I was using it on my son and then exposing it to sunlight for 15 min or so. But now that we arent getting much sun in Chicago, there is no progress. Any recommendations ??

btw, any pix to show results. That might be uplifting to others –:)

    thx

    Hi Sajni,

Thanks for sharing your information with me. I totally agree that any medicine can have an adverse effect. My son’s vit has stopped spreading; infact it might be on retraction but too early to say. However, i have been doing lot of things for him including homeopathy, diet and oil application. Since i am not sure which one is working i dont want to pull out of homeopathy yet. As far as money is concerned, it was free to us. But my instincts say that it is the diet and vitamins that is having the best effect on him. Thats because, as soon as i stopped giving him milk, the vit stopped spreading. Ocassionly he will have cheese( pizza, or icecream ), i have to remember he is a kid, i cant totally take things away from him. But you are right about positive attitude, i am begining to take this as a challenge rather than a bad disease.

again thx for sharing. Will keep everyone posted on progress.

I had posted a link earlier on this thread where you could buy the oil from. I personally havent bought it from there but the site looks promising. I got it from a family of mine back from India; Amazingly it costs only Rs 50 ( eq to a $1 ) for a small bottle to last for months. It might be costly on the web.

    Hey guys

I looked at the Rizvi site and i was impressed that he is acknoleging Babchi oil on the front page. I know there are doctors who want to hide the names of medicines they are using. Anyway, My son has been using babchi oil along with some strict diets and we are seeing some positive results. Atleast the smaller spots are getting smaller. I am taking that as a positive sign but it is going to be atleast year or so that i can be totally positive. ( For more info, look at my post in the bawachi oil, in this forum ).

    Hey Padma,

I am glad you are doing lot of things to fight vitiligo for your kids. My son has a huge 3×5 inch spot on his foot and lot of smaller spots sprang up along with it. It is still where we can hide it with socks but as a parent i am applying all the steps and knowledge i can to fight it.

With soy milk, there are various flavors so might want to try vanilla, choclate etc. I give my son choclate and i guess he is still young so i can pursue him. Yesterday, he was craving for pizza and ice cream. Sometimes it is so hard being a parent. :( You might want to ask your derm for Protopic etc. It seems to work with great success on face as people have mentioned on this website. Lets keep each other posted.
    Goodluck
