    Hi Ann,

I am from Bangalore India but have been to London. on a holiday not work. I use Derma Color and it is good. they send you a tester kit and you can select the shade. a dermatologist helped me with the shade selection. i mix two shades. and it is quite good. not a complete cover up but at least it dims the effect. they have outlets in many places in India and send by courier.

It is great that you are getting to visit so many places on company’s expense. Enjoy you stay there.

    Hi Sia,

It was wonderful to read your post. Great going. Thats the way to be. I too used to be wary of people knowing about my vitiligo but when it was beyond control and was obvious to people , I was more at ease as I did have to bother about people getting to know. A positive outlook is v necessary.

About depigmentation , I wonder if it will create more problems for people in India as there is so much sun here.

    Hi Aparna,

i am happy to know that the treatment is working well for your daughter. Can you tell me more about excimer phototherapy. And if possible, with which hospital is Dr Sudhakar Shetty.

    Hi Nafisa,

I am right now under homeopathic treatment from Dr Ambujakshan in Hyderabad. I was given his reference by a family friend who saw excellent results on his mother and that too when she was 60+. I have completed some 7 months on this treatment and will let you all know about him if it actually works for me.

    Hi Cindy,

thanks for sharing the link and the info. I read the article and it seems to make sense. Maybe I will stop using turmeric in my cooking and see if it makes a difference. I was responding well to phototherapy but somehow stopped responding to it few years back. since then I have tried homeopathy. but it doesnt seem to work. maybe cutting out turmeric will make me respond . lets see.

    Hi Sujit,

Thanks for the mail. I have been reading up the various message boards for the treatments available but it all seems to be the same old PUVA therapy. I tried Narrow Band UVB for a year but saw no results. I was told it is still not tested widely. I also read up the vitamins to be taken and some messages that seem to say turmeric should be avoided. Is it so? I thought turmeric was a good disinfectant and has a lot of medicinal properties.

    Hi Nafisa,

You seem to be quite an active member at this forum. Are you thinking of taking Batras. What treatment are you on now. I wish we could make more people aware of Batras and how they are misleading people. I am really angry when I see their full page ads and the write ups by Dr Mukesh Batra. I wish they had not misled me all these years. ( 4 years)

They kept sounding so confident and would arrange for meetings with their Senior Consultants , who asked me to conduct all kinds of epxensive tests. And finally the doctor I was consulting with , who became quite friendly with me ,told me in not so many words that their treatment can if only help the people with recent vitiligo.

    Hi,

I joined the forum today. I saw the messages asking for experience with Dr Batras. My advice is stay away from Dr Batras. I took the treatment for 4 years and they only managed to aggravate the stituation no end. They kept saying initially it may increase but you will see results after 2 years. My vitiligo was much in control with the PUVA therapies. Wish I had never joined Batras. Now the vitiligo has spread like wildfire. Sincere advice , dont be misled by Batras. The conventional PUVA therapy is best. Plus for some exposed patches you may use Derma color camouflage cream.

    Bye,

    Monalisa
