Hello to all….
For what its worth, here are my 2 cents.. its just a little off topic…but thought i would share it with u all…I know exactly what your kids are going thro cos i was a child growing up with vit…. I got vit when i was 12….. i am 30 now.
By reading all of ur posts… it gives me an insight as to what my parents must have gone thro when i was first diagnosed. Firstly…. being a child, i was very very strong… and know for sure, that your kids are very strong too. For some reason, i find that, as i child i was stronger and could deal with it bettet than now as an adult……. thinking back on it, i think partly the reason being…… i had 2 very strong parents, and extra supportive family growing up…. Not that i dont have them now, but i dont live wiht them…..
The point i am trying to drive at here is….. what your kids want more than ever rite now would be your support, love and strength, which i am sure u all are doing a fine job of to begin with….. The only thing, that hurt me the most was to even think, that I could cause SO Much pain to my parents (altho my parents were very careful not to let me sense that )….but as kids , our senses can be very strong, and can catch things very easily……. I can only imagine what it is like for a parent to watch their kids change color…….. but i do know what it is to be a kid growing up with vit…..
I also know that, with my parents fine support and strength, i am an independent self made woman today, inspite of vitiligo…….I came to this country ( US ) on my own, and have made a life for myself.SO…to all the parents, be strong, and be the strength of your kids… cos they need u now, and they will turn out just fine… vit or no vit….!
