        hi S,
seems u have overexposed urself.. in the sun. this melanocyl.. i told u , u hv to be very careful..few seconds more.. and u r burnt :( apply something soothing.. calamine.. or aloe vera lotion cream/lotion. It takes few days for it to come back to normal. no u will not lose pigment.. perhaps the pigment will come ! :)

                    hi S,
thank u for ur suggestion it is welcome anytime. All of us are here to help, support and lend advice and so good to hear what u have to say too :). yea i know she is soo small… but lately the stares and asking have gotten too much. In school its fine.. nobdody bothers. But once i go out.. people stare and stare. and its so awkward. Here people are not used to seeing ppl with vitiligo.. so the stares are more. I just want to do it to ease her problems.. but then as u say i too feel she is too young.. thats the dilemma… guess will hold back till i can !

                      hi S,

thanks for ur kind words. Whenever i go to india.. i too see a lot many people with vitiligo. Seems its become quite common problem…. with no cure :(
                      Of course , i know Tirupathi :)
The best way is stay postive and follow some treatment which will keep us hopeful.
Swinzle`s vitiligo is much more now, than visible in those pics… will post a pic soon. The doctors say she will gradually depigment totally. I am thinking of accelerating the whole depigmenting process by applying the depigmenting cream. Better to be one colour than so patchy.
Continue with ur treatment and take ur vitamins religiously…
                      xx

                          hi S,

Before 8 am, the UV rays will not be much from the sun. If u are applying protopic and exposing to the sun then u can expose for longer time… like 20 mins or so… idea is to get the skin a bit pink to trigger the pigment cells into action.
Every body is differenent .. and no u don`t get depigmented with more exposure… i said u may get burnt if u expose too long if u have melanocyl applied to ur skin.
melanocyl ointment is less potent then melanocyl solution. I had used the solution for my daughter sometime back, not using now. with the solution u have to expose for a min everyday and then build up slowly.. by 30 seconds or so.. but i never exposed for more than 5 mins.. and within that time also she got burnt. The thing is .. u don`t feel u r burning at that time.. its later that u get to know ur skin turns all red and u get blisters. With the solution u have to be careful even when its a cloudy day. I have some pics of swinzle, my daughter… when i was treating her with melanocyl. Her vitiligo is extensive as u can see.
                          http://uk.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/swinzle_chauhan/my_photos
Saraswathi, whatever treatment u follow.. u have to be persistent and dedicated… if u get lazy then the results will be slow to show up.
                          good luck !
