in reply to: Any success treating segmental vitiligo? #109865

        neesha,
came across this somewhere posting it for u here:

Segmental vitiligo usually happens when you are very young and spreads
fast for about 1-2 yrs. Then stops and stays stable for rest of your life.
Often, lesions are limited to one side. This kind usually is resistant to
mainstream therapies. Good candidate for melano-transplantation. This is
according what I have read so far. Please read the following link. If you
search under “segmental vitiligo” in google you will find a whole lot of
articles. Also, please read in vitiligosupport.com.

          hi asha.
thanks for the urls.. they were all informative and interesting. I just went thru them. I will have to find out if we get tums here. Not only swinzle , but i too have been having heartburn and acidity, guess kind of become chronic..inspite of a very restricted diet. I had got an endoscopse done and was diagnosed as severe gastritis. Thats why i keep telling u .. don`t worry….do something which busts ur stress. see what all the worrying has done for me. :(
          thnx once again dear.

                  hi Asha,
thanks for the details..seems u are really working hard on nutrition and a good diet. :) I tried to do the same too.. juicing, natural healthy fresh food everyday.. even i am a vegetarian.. so its mostly veg food at home.. .. twice a week they eat non veg.. swinzle mostly fish. Swinzle does not like yogurt but loves milk. Yes I make sure she chews her food properly. Past 10 days i think she has been having some acid reflux… and complains of nausea too. I have been trying to give her a low fat diet , just a glass of milk and added yogurt ( in the form of lassi ) but does not seem to be helping much. I think i will stick to it for some days to see a change or else consult a doc. Once u go to a doc u know they will put u thru endless blood tests n the whole regime…..sighhh.

                  Thanks once again..

You are welcome Asha… and thanks for ur wishes..i know how it can be sometimes talking with people can help so much. … makes u realise u are not the only one going thru the upheaval of emotions I knew a lady in malaysia ( KL ) thru the net, her son had vitiligo and we used to call each other up whenever either of us was going thru a bad patch.. I have seen it only helps when u talk to someone who knows about viitligo.. other people though sympathetic , cannot understand how vitiligo can tear u up emotionally. I suggest u do some yoga.. it has been helping me a lot…. i used to go thru phases of extreme worry. I wanted to ask u if u are giving something to ur son for his digestive prob… i think u did mention he has bloating etc. Swinzle`s digestive probs seem to be rising up again… as its so hard to control children`s diet all the time….
