We have a bottle of ‘Linseed Oil’ at home, which could be the same as ‘Flaxseed Oil’..
      [/QUOTED]
Neesha, its not the same…. linseed is “til ka oil.” I remember talking with Bejoy about it.. wait i will hunt it up and post the link.

          hi trisha,

welcome here :) sorry to hear abt ur hubbby….and vitiligo.

homeopathy they say takes long to act and u have to take it for years.. that is.. if it works for u !!!
Its more trial and error with each treatment. Why don`t u try protopic /elidel as most people in US are doing ?

what is this melagenina ?? what does it contain ??

avoiding sun … ?? thats strange .. coz i think for vitiligo sun is very necessary for repigmentation to occur. i do think that sun makes the contrast in vitiligo and normal skin more… but it is very necessary to get sun. Most people in india are vegetarians yet the incidence of vitiligo is highest in india…. just my thoughts….

          take care,

            hi victor,

sorry to hear that ur vitiligo is worsening….sigh.. viitligo is totally unpredictible.
MY daughter took UVB for 8 mnths and all it did was to make it spread more :( Now the light unit stands in one corner collecting dust after wasting so much money.
I do remb u once said u hate the idea of depig…. but look on the brighter side of things… no more treatments, no more worrying ! ok ok i know all of us love our olive complexions…. !!
As for white hair.. if u have read the main msg board ppl are talking abt omega 3 fats which restore black hair and prevent from greying. Even i have read abt it elsewhere. Why not try it. There is an Indian member here ( Bejoy ) who drinks a spoonful of flaxseed oil everyday !
            I wld say give it a go….:)

Price is about $500 for handheld light. on this very site u have the UVB link ( home page ) u can find out more from Chris Cane whether they have a distributor in ur area… or else they ship from the USA.

                      hey Tannu…
sorry to read how u feel abt viitligo…
first of all i will say its not life threatening.. its emotionally scarring.
Looks like u did not get support during ur early yrs.. what abt ur family members ?? In india viitligo is sooo common… its easier to understand what a person has. I can sense the bitterness and frustration which teasing can bring about in a person.
Remember u are a beautiful person… confidence is the key.. let ppl say what they want.. after a while they accept u…. and u shd tell them u apply make up coz u have viitligo… if u tell them they will be more understanding. This site is a wonderful place to vent ur feelings and get support… and after letting out steam one does feel better….I have known and come across many people with viitligo…and believe me when i say they are all happily married…. there are always people who will loook beyond ur skin.. at the person u are… ur virtues.. of honesty, caring , loving, generous attitude will gain u more friends than a pretty face.
I have heard of one dr francis ( in Bandra ) in b`bay who is tops have u tried him ?? I will ask this friend who knows a doc down south for the address. Actually she has moved and is not reachable easily as she is in maldives.
i have a 11 yr old daughter… she is so confident .. she does not let her spots bother her… she is not really aware of them. yest was her first day at secondary schoool… and i asked her did anybody ask u about ur spots… her answer was ” what spots ?? ! “
The more self conscious u become… the more u are fighting with ur own self too… u have to accept ur ownself as u are….
I met a doctor in delhi, who herself had viitligo.. she said she had from childhood and she became a skin specialist coz ahe wanted to help others with it. So having vitiligo is not the end of life… one has to start to learn living with vitiligo…. the day u accept it u will be at peace with urself.. u can focus more on studies, sports.. hobbies.. to divert ur mind develop a hobby… meditate, do yoga.. all these help relieve stress. Talk and make friends with ppl who ahve viitligo..a nd u will feel u are not alone…there is an assocaition in ahemdabad which is doing a lot of things for the vitiligo cause.
Depigment.. and u will feel thats the best thing u have done..it will reallly boost ur ur self esteem. we all have hurdles, sorrows in life.. we shd learn how to face them and overcome them.So pick up urself and get going…. don`t let vitiligo pulll u down. Don`t think u are inferior in anyway coz of viitligo…. don`t let viitligo get the better of u..face it head on.
                      good luck.

Did you use oxasalren and UVB light together?
How is your daughter respond to these treatments?
Did you see any side effect of using oxoleran to long period of time?
How long did you treat your daughter with oxasalren?
                                [/QUOTED]
yes i used uvb and oxasalren together
as i told u within three expsoures she turned pink…a nd within a month there was freckling.
i used to apply only once a week and there were lots of freckles.. u can see her pics in the msg repig with melanocyl.
Its better to expose around 11 am.
I treated her for about 5 mnths.. and she gained a lot of pigment… but.. being a school goer and a sunny place.. she was constantly exposed to sun ( inspite of sunblock ) and she burnt her legs and hands several times…
                                don`t hesitate ask.. whatever u want…
