hi Padma,
there are so many homeopaths in India… it really confuses u. U have to go by word of mouth as to who is good ,from friends n relatives. I got the medicine from a doctor in delhi ( whom my sister was seeing for back pain ) I took the medicne for 21/2 months. The medicine is in liquid form ( one week a bottle )
u have to hit the bottle on ur palm 10 times( to shake it well ) and then drink it.. and in the mouth u have to roll it around ( like u do for gargles ). Two does per day on empty stomach, first thing in the moring and one hour before dinner. Other than that the doc said to excercise for 5 -10 mins till she sweats… to get the blood circulation going. Expose to sun everyday while playing/school whatever. Avoid citrus stuff.Thats about it. They ask for half an hour about various questions before they dole out the medicne. If u want, i can find the address for u of the doctor.what treatment are u currently pursuing ??

I was travelling in India ( reside in malaysia ) so saw ur msg after coming back. I am glad u are thinking of depig. . How did u cope up during school and college ?? I have a 11year daughter who has viitligo since past 6 yrs. her viitligo is extensive and i too am looking for a doctor who can help me depigment her. So if u come across any, do let me know too. I tried in delhi… but could not find anyone. A friend from this website mentioned she knows a doc in south india who does depig. If u want i can ask her for add and other details.
Camoflague make up: is available by the name of kryolan derma colour from germany in India. I recently bought it. If u look up the msg i had posted asking abt camoflague creams u will find the address, and other details.good luck !

hi Padma,
Even i have heard from people that they have benefitted from homeopathy treatment, when their vitiligo just started. But nobody really from this website has anything good to report of. Recently i was in India… and i was persuaded by relatives to give it a go, for my daughter. The doctor said u will see results only after 2-4 mnths. Swinzle has been taking the medication for a month now.. no change , only thing is her digestion seems to be better. I personally feel there is no harm in trying homeopathy if u have easy access to it from a reputed doc. Who knows it may work for ur kid !

Nice of u to share ur treatment regime with us. Seems u are doing all the right things !! Juicing, vitamins, cutting down on processed foods… great ! keep up the sun exposure and we learn by experience how long to expose. wish u continued success…. i am sure with such efforts the kid will regain his colour and it will be byes to vitiligo !
good luck…

Hence, I look for advice specially in the following terms:• Whether the course of action adopted is correct
• Whether Betnasol 6 mg a week will cause any long term problems
• Whether vaccinations and betnasol can continue together.
• What treatment procedure would you advice
[/QUOTED]
hi there, sorry to hear about your daughter and viitligo…. i know how devastating it can be ! welcome to this website which is a wonderful place for advice, support and knowledge.
my daughter, when she was initially diagnosed with vitiligo was given the same treatment from a derm in delhi. .. that was in the year 2000-2001.she got much of her colour back… her face , and legs. Giving steroids never made me happy and i gradually weaned her off them and in no time the repigmented colour depigmented. I would suggest to stop the steroids gradually and before that start off on any other treatment.. topical melanocyl etc..
One reads a lot abt the side effects… what my daughter went thru was: she used to get very angry very quickly, always hungry .. gained weight…. and later she did not pick up height for a year. she developed cataract in her eyes… which thankfully went off with medication.
I personally feel its not worth it…. to give a kid betnasol.
I know most derms in india follow this line of treatment…. as u do gain results with it ! how old is ur daughter ? how does she cope up with vitiligo ?let me know if i can be of help…
best wishes,

I had to go off to India …. I stopped the melanocyl treatment then, so there is no improvement to report:( Melanocyl is good but living ina place where the sun is always shining causes severe burns.
Sorry i cannot tell u the brand of vitamins i am giivng my duaghter coz they are made for her by my hubby (he is in the pharmaceutical field ) its basically all the B vitamins in one and B12 and folic acid ( sublingual ) in another tablet.
In India , relatives coaxed me to try homeopathy which i started a month back. Her digestion seems to have improved with that , no change in vitiligo.
Sorry to hear about your daughter. Is protopic helping her ? How much vitiligo does she have ?
I would advice to add vitamins to her treatment regime.take care,
van
