      hi,
I think xtrac laser is a good option if your vitiligo is of the stable kind and has not been spreading.
From what i have read on this board, success with xtrac varies from person to person. so its like one has to try it out for oneself. Has your vitiligo been stable and confined ? Yes, PUVA and UVB treatments make the contrasts worse and make the skin much darker. Its very time consuming also.

Thanks for the info on NASH. So do u have to adhere to a low fat diet..?

I am from delhi… but last 13 yrs have been in Penang, Malaysia. I have two daughters. …the younger one, Swinzle is 11 , she has vitiligo. So far so good… she is not bothered about it and has no problems, even tho her vitiligo is extensive. She is a confident and outgoing girl and I jsut hope it stays that way. Out here ,she is in an international school, which is a small community … and she is well accepted and thankfully no problems. But ,going out people do stare and ask questions, as vitiligo is not common here.In india , whenever i go… i always see people with vitiligo, there people at least know what it is and it is widespread in all states. I guess appearance is imporatnt to most people, hence the stigma. People think its just a cosmetic disease but I think its an internal disease and the manifestation is more marked outside.

how does one diagnose this one.. what kind of test i mean ? what are the symptoms ?who knows my daughter also got it coz of cortisone creams which initially i used for long. liv 52 is herbal too.
look up the research papers here. http://www.himalayahealthcare.com/index.htm
I think these himalaya drugs are fantastic and so inexpensive.

I have heard of someone mention they rub lime onto their skin and exspose to sun. Good to hear the powder helped u. Have u been taking for long ? Knowing the constituents of the powder would help in understanding how it works.

keep us psoted on ur progress…

My maternal grandfather, my mother and I, all have vitiligo (CRAP!! what a genetic jackpot!) . I have seen at least two other Indians and possibly more with Vitiligo

                  hi there,
                  Interesting to read your views…
ohhh, so it runs in the family for u . I guess u are in US. In india , you will find a lot of people with it… and a lot more people are getting it . sighhh. yes you are right, psorasis and eczema are maybe not so common in India , as vitiligo.
                  [QUOTED]
I think we would be be seeing a lot more Vitamin related deficiencies in India.
                  [/QUOTED]
I have always wondered that if we are so deficient in vitamins( according to Dr. Monte`s book ) we would surely be having a lot of deficiencies , which I don`t really see in people with vitiligo.

I have already done my bit for contribution. This website is a wonderful place.

what treatment are u taking ?
                  good wishes,

It was a great.. ..match !!! The great thing about the whole series was the spirit it was played in !
Hats off to Pakistan for being good hosts and to Indians for putting up a fabulous game.
as quoted .. at tearjerker in one of the papers:From a PTI report in the *Hindu* of 24 March 2004:

“… in the stands the Indians and Pakistanis, men and women, sat
together, cheered together and jointly carried the flags of the two
countries stitched together. It was as if they were supporting a
joint India-Pakistan dream team against, say, Australia. Some young
Pakistani women had the flag colours of both countries painted on
their faces. Many young Indian women followed suit. Indians and
                    Pakistanis exchanged national flags.”
