          rasmi,

i think we are wasting our time asking her what treatment she took coz she does not bother/care to reply to anybody.Funny, considering she is a doctor and shd be willing to share her treatment and help people. There are so many people on this board ever willing to help, share and answer …. but not the dr. priya.

                      hi hardeep,

yes i know.. its good to have sunshine all the year round …. but u know it creates more contrast between the white patches and normal skin :( and vitiligo becomes more obvious.

stick to that chinese medicine if it helping and i am sure u will see results. good luck with that.

right now i am not giivng any medicines to my daughter . her vitiligo was in a stage where it was spreading. she has digestive problems which i think are the underlying reason for her vitiligo.. i am trying to deal with that first. i have tried UVB and protopic besides steroid creams.

read the FAQ on this board and it will answer ur question about UVB. UVB is a certain wavelength of sunlight which is benefical for vitiligo and is relatively safe.

where are u locaed in UK ?? how long have u had vitiligo? is it stable ?does anybody in the family have vitiligo. why don`t u try psworawand if ur vitiligo is in small area only ??

                            hi hardeep,

yeah ur mom is right , u shd stick to one treatment. with patience and dedication to see results.

as far as i know.. bakuchi oil also needs exposure to sun. its herbal psoralen.

i am indian.. living in malaysia. yes u can purchase UVB here. there is plenty of sunshine here all the year round so my daughter is exposed to it.. my theory is that if u r exposed to so much sunshine already ur exposure time for UVB increases. so i feel since sunshine is scarce in UK,UVB may benefit u.

yes u r right i hv seen burnt skin does return to normal colour and does not depigment again. facial skin is delicate and morever burn area hurts a lot ! i think doctors shd look into this theory of burnt skin repigmenting so well !

is the chinese medicine helping ?? how long have u been taking it ??

No Hardeep, i have never used bakuchi oil at all. It maybe a good combination but a bit scared to use in case it burns…. but i suppose can give it a try in small areas. Have u used UVB /bakuchi oil ?? any success ??

i hv used protopic and uvb for my daughter. used uvb close to abt 6 mnths. with no success. uvb i used for abt 3 mnths.. and the vitiligo spread a lot and the exposure time used to be abt 10 +mins each side.. i stopped using it for the time being. everybody is difft .. and respond differently to difft treatments..

                                  hope that is of help…
